Job Description
- Manage tax affairs of South America, Europe and North Africa Business with particular focus on
- European assets with particular focus on recently acquired upstream Dutch production assets
- North African development projects such as upstream oil and gas development projects in Mauritania
- Lead development of Group wide transfer pricing policy including strong understanding of cost sharing agreements in a multinational oil and gas company.
- Assisting the Head of Tax with tax litigation, currently underway in the UK, Uganda and Bangladesh.
- Identifying, developing and implementing corporate projects. Recent examples have included structuring overseas farm out transactions in South America, intra group capital structuring and development of strategies for tax efficient hedging. These activities involve establishing effective ad hoc teams with colleagues in the finance, legal and treasury functions.
- Ad hoc advice on international corporate M&A transactions.
- Contributing to the development of operational tax processes concerning contracts, Financial reporting, and compliance processes and controls
- The management of outsourced compliance activities.
- The development of tax reporting to the CFO
Desired Skills & Experience
- This role requires a level of technical and industry experience such that the candidate can effectively manage a range of tax matters arising in a multinational FTSE 100 oil and gas company
- Previous experience of providing international tax advice to clients
- Strong Oil and Gas industry experience
- Candidates with language skills, French, Spanish, Portuguese highly regarded
- Good MS Office skills, with excellent Excel and strong PowerPoint skills
- Excellent verbal, written and aural communication skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work on own initiative and be autonomous
