Teacher of English , British Council - Dar es Salaam

The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. We are recruiting a Teacher of English to work in our teaching centre in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

This is a full-time teaching position (25 contact hrs / week) with associated administrative duties, including evaluation, development and improvement of English language courses, materials and related services. The contract is on locally appointed terms & conditions, for two years, starting in October or November 2012.

Benefits include salary of TZS 32,869,848 per annum, international medical insurance (BUPA) and an inbound flight for teachers not already based in Tanzania.

Desired Skills & Experience

You must have a CELTA or Trinity Cert. TESOL (or Cambridge / Trinity Diploma) plus two years teaching experience after training, and a demonstrable ability to teach adult learners across a range of levels. You should also have some experience of delivering ESP, particularly exam preparation courses, business English, professional development and EAP. IELTS examiner status is also desirable.
