The British Council in Ethiopia is looking for a suitable and qualified candidate to fill the post of a Project Delivery Coordinator.
Context and Environment:
The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. We operate in 110 countries. Our purpose is to build mutually beneficial relationships between people in the UK and other countries and increase appreciation of the UK’s creative ideas and achievements.
Job aim:
To support the direct and indirect delivery of a portfolio of large scale and local ELT projects, increasingly through partnership, to meet the British Council’s objectives and targets and partner expectations primarily in Ethiopia but also in Somalia.
To support a network of internal and external service providers and partners to meet all project targets in Ethiopia and Somalia.
Responsibilities:
In line with Equality, Opportunity and Diversity policy (EOD), Child Protection Policy and other overarch corporate policies:
- Project delivery (40%): To provide support for projects and organise events to a high standard and within deadline. To make arrangements for visitors including booking travel, accommodation and supporting English Language activity as well as archiving contracts and related correspondence.
- Financial administration (30%): To provide financial support to the project manager, including tracking budgets (Ethiopia, Somalia and Global English), raising of purchase orders, getting quotes from suppliers, tracking payments and correcting mis-postings.
- Scorecard (20%): To administer our monitoring and evaluation tool called Scorecard. Collect and record all data within deadline and according to corporate standards.
- Marketing and Communications (10%): To support the English Language Project Manager in the preparation of high level presentations for external audiences (PowerPoint and mobile phone apps) and, working in close consultation with the Communications Manager, ensure that Global English products and projects are marketed to the highest standards in print (press, publications), digitally (websites, social media, TV, radio) and at events (conferences, workshops, meetings).
- Other administrative work: As required.
