PURPOSE:
A vacancy exists for a Mining Engineer that will manage the global operations interfaces between the BPF project team and the business in order to facilitate delivery on the BPF project deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree/ diploma in Mining Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 - 10 years experience as an engineer in the mining industry.
- Well rounded Mine planning and production experience is essential.
- A sound understanding of the general principles of various disciplines in the mining industry.
- Project management experience is essential.
- Business Process Framework (BPF) exposure is an advantage.
- Experience in using Lean Six Sigma Improvement Methodologies is an advantage.
- Mining Contract management is an advantage.
COMPETENCIES:
- Must be fully computer literate with expert working knowledge of the MS suite of products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Working knowledge and implementation of service/ production strategies is essential.
- Must have developed an appreciation for the Global Business where professional credibility and competence has been established in roles requiring interface and influence with senior level engagement.
- Highly motivated with an ability to work independently in a fast paced and pressurized environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collaborate with site management for the preparation of site specific operations conditions for work packages.
- To support senior management and liaise with other departments to assist with complexities and queries arising from work package development and implementation.
- Support the site Project Manager, through coaching, to drive initiatives at the operations with specific focus on delivery for project deliverables.
- Coordinate operations inputs into the BPF project.
- Implementation and coordination of operations specifications and requirements procedures throughput BPF roll out.
- Support site management to ensure compliance with standards, specifications and procedures.
- Coordinate studies arising from BPF implementation.
- Identify critical work packages and perform coaching to site personnel for the development of work packages.
- Ensure approval of work packages (technical, PSC requirements, and BPF quality and revision control).
- Work with Anglogold Ashanti appointed technical committee for work package approval.
- Effective management of accurate, complete and signed off work packages.

SALARY:
According to AGA Schedule of Salaries.
