Since 1970, DAI has worked in 150 developing and transition countries, providing comprehensive development solutions in areas including crisis mitigation and stability operations, democratic governance and public sector management, agriculture and agribusiness, private sector development and financial services, economics and trade, HIV/AIDS, avian influenza control, water and natural resources management, and energy and climate change. Clients include international development agencies, international lending institutions, private corporations and philanthropies, and host-country governments. Objective of the project DAI are seeking experience Team Leaders, for a background in private sector development, specifically in capacity building of private enterprises, with an anticipated programme with the European Investment bank. The overall objective of the technical assistance scheme is the provision of advisory services for capacity building in favour of current and potential future final beneficiaries of EIB’s Private Enterprise Finance Facility II (PEFF II) in Uganda. The technical assistance scheme foresees the provision of training workshops and individual advisory services to the final beneficiaries that are active in sectors eligible under the PEFF II facility (e.g. agribusiness, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, health, education, tourism). The scheme is expected to enhance the utilisation of the facility and will help to reduce the related credit risks for the financial intermediaries. The consultants will provide training to SMEs on the following main topics business plan preparation, financial management including accounting, general corporate governance, as well as best environmental and social practice. Additionally, the consultants will provide certain SMEs with individual counselling on specific needs: writing/review of business plans, preparation of feasibility and market studies and other specific topics relevant to project preparation or implementation. Length of the project: 13 months Start Date: November 2011 |
