Short and Long Term Adviser positions: Africa

International Alert is requesting ‘Expression of Interests’ from qualified candidates available for short (from 15 days to up to 6 months) and long term assignments (1+ years) in Africa.

Short Term Senior and Junior Advisers:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience for senior roles and 5 years’ experience for junior roles in the following areas:

• The fields of conflict prevention • conflict management • post-conflict reconstruction • change management are also required

In particular Alert would welcome expression of interest from those with working experience in Support/Assistance in Programme Management of AUC and REC Programmes, ASF Training Design and Delivery, PCRD programmes assessment, Design and Management, Early Warning and Mediation.

Long term Senior Advisers:

3 x Senior Long term Advisors with a minimum of 10 years’ experience are required to assist the Africa Union and Regional Organisations in the programmatic and financial/administrative management of the EC/African Peace Facility programmes. Advisors will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Libreville, Gabon

1. Financial Management Adviser: main focus on peace support operations, MICOPAX (based in Gabon with travel to CAR)

2. Senior Financial Management Adviser: main focus on peace support operations, AMISOM (based in Ethiopia, with travel to Kenya/Somalia)

3. Programme Management Adviser: APF funded programmes (based in Ethiopia)
