Job Description: |
DAI seeks candidates for the anticipated USAID-funded South Sudan Office of Transition and Conflict Mitigation (OTCM) program. OTCM, an office within the USAID/South Sudan Mission, is expected to issue an RFP for a stabilization program in early fall with implementation beginning in late 2011 or early 2012. The program will focus on steering youth away from conflict, reintegration, livelihoods, and governance, particularly at the payam, county and state levels. DAI seeks candidates for the COP position with the qualifications listed below. The COP position will be based in Juba and will require extensive travel to the Greater Upper Nile and Greater Bahr el Ghazal regions of South Sudan. |
Basic Qualifications: |
Required: • At least five years experience in South Sudan working on conflict-related issues; • In-depth understanding of drivers of conflict in South Sudan and means of mitigating such drivers; • Background in conflict mitigation and peacebuilding techniques; and • Experience supervising complex and challenging field operations in closed societies, conflict environments, fragile or transitional countries, and/or war-torn societies. Preferred: • Experience designing, awarding, and managing grants, preferably in-kind and small grants; • Experience with activity design, development, and implementation; • Financial and compliance management experience; and • Language skills in at least one language – other than English – spoken in South Sudan. |
