FIND is an international non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. The organization is dedicated to activities that result in: 1) new diagnostic tools; 2) expanded access to these tools; and 3) strengthened diagnostic testing capacity for poverty-related diseases in low- and middle-income countries.
Your Mission: We seek a Senior Project Manager to be based in Geneva, Switzerland with a talent and passion to manage complex projects that span the range from early R&D concepts, to introduction and scale up of commercial diagnostic solutions in low- and middle-income countries and emerging markets. You will be the focal point for our recently established Hepatitis and HIV Programme, which aims to remove diagnostic barriers that prevent countries from scaling up hepatitis care and supporting global HIV prevention, care, and treatment goals.
Your Responsibilities: Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate and manage FIND’s hepatitis C projects, notably a major grant-funded, multi-year, multi-country project to build hepatitis C diagnostic and treatment capacity in eight countries, in collaboration with multiple international and local partner organizations. Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinate a cross-functional FIND team and country teams to achieve deliverables in hepatitis C screening and treatments, within time and budgetary targets
- With Head of Hepatitis C and HIV Programme, ensure proper project and resource planning, procurement, budget and risk management
- Document progress as per project management best practices and donor requirements (project plans, project status reports, grant reports, M&E framework reports, and meeting minutes)
- Maintain regular communication with donors and partner organizations
- Organize regular project management meetings and support the teams in resolving project issues
- Provide strategic input, contribute to continuous organizational improvement, and assist in fundraising activities
- Apply project management skills to other hepatitis C and HIV projects as needed
The position requires up to 25% travel, and reports to the Head of Hepatitis C and HIV Programme.
Education, knowledge, and skill requirements:
- At least 10 years hands-on project management experience in a health field (with multi-country teams of 5+ members)
- University degree from a reputable University
- Advanced degree, such as and MSc. in medical science, preferably infectious diseases, and/or MPH strongly preferred
- Sound understanding of public health issues in low- and middle-income countries
- Sound knowledge in hepatitis C and diagnostic development/delivery strongly preferred
- Outstanding organizational skills with good sense of priorities
- Financial acumen and analytical thinking with solid execution capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong presentation skills (including the ability to present to different audiences and communicate public health issues in a concise, professional manner)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and flexibly in a resource-limited environment
- Team player comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment
- Experience with MS Project (or similar) project management software
- Fluent in verbal and written English; other languages are a strong advantage
