Tanzania Network Information Centre (tzNIC) is a not-for Profit Company responsible with management and administration of tz country code Top Level Domain names (.tz ccTLD). Dot tz is the ISO 3166-1 code representation for Tanzania in cyber space and is among the Country's communication resources.
The Company would like to recruit dynamic; experienced and. qualified personnel to fill vacant positions of:
1. Assistant Accountant
Reports: To the Financial Officer
Responsibilities
The Assistant Accountant willl5e expected to handle the following tasks:
(i) Processing, recording, classifying and summarizing routine accounting transactions and preparing invoices.
(ii) Initiating payments in accordance with established company procedures.
(iii) Coordination of banking activities, preparing monthly supplier accounts reconciliations, bank reconciliations and journal entries.
(iv) Maintaining Company's fixed asset register.
(v) Management of Accounts receivables and Payables. ,
(vi) Assist in coordinating the accounting functions for the organization and involving other staff members to obtain necessary information to maintain accurate accounts records.
(vii) Assist in coordinating the formulation of sound financial policy procedures and control systems;
(viii) Assist in coordinating the preparation, monitoring, control and evaluation of company budget;
(ix) Assist in preparation of quarter and annual financial reports.
(x) Any other duties that may be assigned by the Financial Officer.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance. Possession of an equivalent but relevant qualification is acceptable.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in an Accounting or finance position.
• Conversant with Tanzanian Taxation laws.
• Knowledge of Office suit applications and hands on experience in Computerized accounting applications.
• Basic Knowledge of International Accounting Principles and Standards
• Knowledge, skills and abilities
• All the 'above two candidates are expected to have the following qualities:
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Proactive and self-starting with ability to work unsupervised or with minimum supervision.
• Achievement and result oriented team player.
