UNEP’s Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (DTIE) works with national and local governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, business and industry to develop and implement policies, strategies and practices that are cleaner and safer, incorporate environmental costs, use natural resources efficiently, reduce pollution and risks for humans and the environment, and enable the implementation of conventions and international agreements. Education
An advanced university degree (e.g. Masters level) in an agricultural, food or environmental sciences related discipline, development studies and/or international co-operation or a first university degree with a relevant combination of professional and academic qualifications. A first university degree with a combination of two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in agriculture and food related projects/programme management in an international and/or developing country context is required. Knowledge of UN processes and operations, and experience working with government institutions or intergovernmental organizations is required. Experience in working with the private sector (agri-business) and managing multi stakeholder partnerships is an advantage.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in written and spoken English is required. Ability to work in one other UN language, especially French, is an asset.
