Direct and control all aspects of I.T. Service Delivery within Tanzania in support of the strategic business plans
Accountable for the delivery of all services to the business in accordance with agreed service level agreements
Accountable for planning, installation, implementation and maintenance of the bank's I.T equipment in Tanzania
Accountable for SCB Tanzania in areas of Security, Compliance, Training, Telecommunications and Technical Support
To be a proactive member of the SCB Tanzania Management Team and contribute energetically to providing I.T. solutions to the Bank's business objectives in Tanzania
To be an integral part of information Technology Services, working with global, regional and local I.T. personnel to support the implementation and management of the Group's global system and initiatives
To act as main liaison between the SCB Tanzania I.T. Operations, I.T. Hub in Nairobi, Kenya and Chennai
Accountable for I.T. Services Standards
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Work with the Chief Information Officer together with Business Heads to ensure that the I.T. Service Delivery function supports the business requirements and operates in a cost efficient and beneficial manner
Work with the area Head of I.T. (East and Southern Africa) to develop long term strategy and direction in all aspects of I.T. Service Delivery
Ensure that the I.T Service Delivery function meets all agreed contractual service levels
Ensure that the I.T. Service Delivery function adopts all Group standards and that it responds to all audit reports
Sponsor strongly and promote continuous improvement of I.T. management disciplines
Accountable to the business and I.T. for the I.T. Service Delivery expenditure and ensure that costs are contained and expenditure on hardware and software is both appropriate and effective
Ensure that the I.T. Service Delivery function is fully resourced, supports the business strategy and responds to business needs
Ensure that all Telecommunications and associated networks are in place and operating to such a standard as to supply the foundation upon which the business can base its requirements
Ensure that relevant input is provided to other I.T. projects and Group-wide developments
Accountable for the security of the Bank's installed computer systems in Tanzania
Accountable for the setting up, testing and maintenance of the Bank's I.T. Disaster Recovery plans in Tanzania
Ensure that all I.T. staff are trained to meet their specific job purpose
Act as management representative in business discussions and negotiations
Carry out Service standards functions that include SLA maintenance, performance reporting, management of service line functions, provision of statistics for vendor meetings
Owner of ITSD RISK MANAGEMENT function within the country
Ensure implementation and monitor Compliance in relation to money laundering prevention (AML and KYC) as specified by group policy and standards and local regulation
Qualifications and Skills
Atleast 5 years working experience in I.T. covering a broad spectrum of disciplines and the mastery of concepts, principles and practices, gained through practical knowledge of a highly specialised and complex industry
Understanding of the banking and financial services industry and a good understanding of the bank's procedures, objectives, strategy and business
Ability to work within broad policies/requirements and business objectives with only general direction
A track record of project planning, team building and cost control
Strong inter-personal skills, decision making capacity and the ability to influence and motivate individuals
Ability to identify system/application problems, analyse and develop solutions to resolve or bypass the problem
Ability to communicate, written and orally with all levels of personnel, both internal and external
