As a strategic and creative thinker with a firm grasp of practicalities and at least ten years’ leadership experience, you will focus on the development and implementation of our funding strategy; the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships; and the successful execution and delivery of projects to high standards, on-time and on-budget.
This will involve engaging with international public and private partners; building relationships with donors to ensure research funding; allocating resources; leading country and regional directors and strategy implementations, specifically with regard sustainable funding strategies and compliance with donor requirements; as a member of the senior leadership team, influencing and shaping our direction while providing challenging and pragmatic insights to reflect external realities; and representing the Director-General as required.
You will provide strategic leadership to achieve growth and impact and strengthen the WorldFish brand as the organisation for high quality research that leads directly to outcomes which impact positively to the reduction of poverty and hunger.
WorldFish, a member of CGIAR, is an international, non-profit research organisation that harnesses the potential of fisheries and aquaculture to reduce hunger and poverty. Globally, more than one billion poor people obtain most of their animal protein from fish and 800 million depend on fisheries and aquaculture for their livelihoods.
