Reporting to the Regional Property Services Manager, SSA, responsibilities include Facilities Management operations, managing Security and Health & Safety programs at Regional GE offices in East & Southern Africa to ensure customer satisfaction and drive net operating income and growth.
Oversee all day-to-day facilities management operations, including communications systems, security, health & safety, mechanical and electrical and building services, procurement and office services, including through the management of external contractors.
Direct and monitor these external contractors and their performance, including customer care operations carried out by them, ensuring that local services and processes are in line with the agreed Global Operations - Properties practices.
Establish and develop relationships with local GE businesses and employee representatives to understand their business and to ensure that our services and solutions meet their needs while taking the global and regional business requirements into account.
Maintain strategies and policies for infrastructure management.
Implement and maintain EHS/SCM initiatives to ensure compliance with goals, objectives, required metrics, planning and scheduling deadlines, budget requirements, and proper reporting and documentation management.
Lead in meeting the current and projected Facility management requirements, establishing clear and measurable serviced delivery levels that support business objectives.
Maintain real property records in the Global Enterprise System property data base and other Global Operations - Properties operating systems, ensuring accuracy of location, space and environmental data for defined geography.
Ensure building documentation is maintained and regularly updated.
Monitor monthly financial performance of properties versus budget; control expenses as necessary to achieve goals.
Provide detailed scope requirements for renovation/space planning initiatives with implementation of associated project management disciplines.
Provide a clear and planned communication strategy to all key stakeholders and employees in East & Southern Africa market for GE.
Develop an annual operating plan (budget) for expenses and liquidations as well as an annual budget for rent billing for each facility for which s/he has responsibility.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or international equivalent with 5+ years’ experience in facility or property management with a multi-national or global organization (OR in lieu of a diploma, a high school diploma/GED and 9 years' facilities/property management experience with a multi-national or global organization)
Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety and/or Security Crisis Management
Proven project management experience
Experience directly managing vendors and staff across a diverse, geographically-dispersed portfolio
Familiarity with bid evaluation, design, purchasing and accounting principles
Experience with tenant/lease administration
Experience in developing and managing a budget
