The School of St Jude is a charity funded school that provides a quality FREE education to approximately 1,500 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in Arusha.
We are currently seeking applications for an experienced educator to Mentor our Student Welfare Support Team in our Secondary School. As the mentor you will be responsible for guiding and assisting the welfare support team to set up a student support structure for our Secondary students.
This exciting role is ideal for an experienced educator who has had experience in a leadership role and is now able to take time out and looking for their next challenge.

A minimum commitment of at least 12 months is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a positive Behaviour Management policy so that effective teaching and learning can take place
- Develop a system of rewards and sanctions
- Develop and provide training for the role of the home room tutors and level coordinators
- Work with all staff to ensure effective behaviour management and pastoral support across the school
- Develop a system of student records (paper and electronic) for monitoring student behaviour, progress and welfare
- Ensure that the Child Protection Policy is understood and adhered to
- Collaboratively work alongside local staff to develop and implement all of the above
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Bachelor of Education or equivalent from an accredited university
- Previous experience in a leadership role or relative experience in developing behaviour management support systems
- Exceptional inter-personal and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- An ability to work flexibly, with independence, patience, reflection, and with a focus on mentoring
- Possess the integrity, open-mindedness and adaptability necessary to live and work in a developing country
- Strong computer skills

Stipend:
