Capacity Building •Innovative trade support project The overall objective of the EU-Indonesia Trade Support Programme II, of which this contract will be a part, is to facilitate a further integration of Indonesia into the international trade system. The Specific Objectives of the Programme are to a) improve co-ordination and transparency in the process for formulation and implementation of trade policy related to export development b) Upgrade the quality infrastructure that supports Indonesia's access to international markets.
The objective of this sub-project is to improve and strengthen existing Export Qualification Infrastructure related to nutmeg production so that all stakeholders in the value chain for production of nutmeg and the competent authorities responsible for verification of food safety of agri-food products have a sound knowledge of and the ability to implement efficiently, the requirements to control the food safety of nutmegs intended for export to EU.
The aim of the mission is to provide assistance to design and implement a demonstration project on best hygiene, storage and drying practices in the value chain for production of nutmeg. The Drying and Storage techniques Expert is responsible to assist with:
•detailed identification and description of demonstration project including: identification of equipment for storage and drying at different steps in the value chain, suggested demonstration areas, conducting needs analysis, prepare financially and technically justified proposals for the demonstration projects; •implementing the agreed demonstration projects and propose dissemination materials that will be required. You will demonstrate:
•Knowledge and experience in the design and documentation of test programs for improving food handling practices; •ability to apply good analytical thinking and to write technical reports, in the field of food quality and safety; •Previous experience of working with nuts, spices etc, specifically nutmeg.
