Reporting to the ECD Specialist and working closely with the Grants Coordinator, affiliated COs, and other stakeholders on the ground, the Project Coordinators will be responsible for the overall oversight of the project within Coast or Nairobi, identify & strengthen partnership within their area, and ensure timely implementation of the project. The Project Coordinator is fully accountable and responsible for ensuring quality in the collection of routine project data and ensuring that all necessary information, both from routine reporting as well as from ad hoc data collection and special studies is well documented and availed to those who support the activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and coordinate the development of Detailed Implementation Plans (DIP) and oversee implementation of the project activities in line with the approved plans
Ensure plan is implemented according to approved budget and donor guidelines, and that ChildFund procedures and policies are adhered to at all times.
Ensure regular monitoring and evaluation of the project and use the information to improve project quality and implementation
Relate GOK Early education policies and guidelines to add value to the project
Articulate strategies required to implement the Essential package for early education
Conduct/coordinate data collection and ensure timely and quality reporting of project activities and compile quarterly and annual reports
Maintain accurate project records to strict timelines
Representation in area partners/network fora and update on current development.
Track performance indicators and ensure adherence to M&E frameworks
Document lessons learnt and best practices for experience sharing and replication.
Required Skills
Minimum of Degree in Early Childhood Development (ECD), Education, Community Development, or any relevant Social Sciences.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet strict deadlines.
A good understanding of Education policy and guidelines
A good grasp of challenges affecting early education especially HIV/AID’s and marginalization of hard to reach children and child protection.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Training and facilitation skills and experience required.
Excellent working knowledge in Microsoft Office.
At least 3 years working experience in similar role preferably with a child focused I/NGO
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Fluency in English, both oral and written.
