Supply MANAGER will report to the General Manager.
SCOPE
The Supply manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the mine Supply function. This includes overall responsibility for the co-ordination of supply and warehousing of materials/stores, office administration.
The Supply Manager is a senior staff member reporting to the Financial Manager and liaising with all Departments. The incumbent will also liaise closely with the Corporate Supply Group and Finance managers to ensure that Company Supply and Purchasing policies are being implemented.
SUPERVISION
The Supply manager directly supervises twenty (42) staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Supply Manager should possess tertiary Supply Management or Business Supply or Certified Procurement and Supply Profession Qualification from arecognised National Board.
EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Supply Management field including at least three years in a similar position in the mining industry.
Previous experience with demonstrated achievement in the management of personnel, stores, Purchasing, contracts and administrative matters is essential.
Extensive experience in computer applications preferably Word, Excel and extensive Pronto experience is essential.
Ensure auditing of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory, ABG and Group requirements to do with Supply Chain
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Good written and oral presentation skills are essential. Good communication skills are also necessary to effectively liaise with other departments and organisations. The ability to effectively communicate on a personal level and to handle personnel problems is also essential. The ability to write and update and effectively rollout procedures in compliance with company policy.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
The abilities to effectively supervise and train subordinates are essential. Good leadership skills in problem solving, providing motivation, setting organisational objectives and monitoring performance are also necessary. The incumbent must be prepared to work as part of the Senior Management Team and to promote Company policies and philosophy and work towards reducing total cost of ownership for the group.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
The ability to complete projects on time without supervision and ensure the efficient operation of the Supply Department is essential. All work performed must be of a high standard of professionalism and in accordance with Company supply policy and procedures. Good organisation skills and the ability to promote sound purchasing and Supply practices are essential.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent must be physically fit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the Supply Manager are as follows:
· To maintain overall supervision of the Supply Department of the mine operations to ensure that timely, efficient and effective administrative services are provided.
· Actively participating in a succession planning and mentoring program amongst the Supply Chain team that ensures that PML commitments to the Tanzania Government with respect to the development of Tanzanian employees to allow them to assume positions of increasing accountability are achieved.
· To develop and maintain work practices and procedures to the highest professional and safety standards to achieve optimum performance of the administrative function in order to meet Company objectives.
· To provide leadership, direction and motivation to all supply personnel and to promote a professional, vigorous and safe working environment.
· Ensure adequate site security of Company property is maintained. Ensure systems of accountability are maintained and audited.
· Liaise with RBU Supply Group and Finance to ensure company policies are implemented and that Supply information is transmitted on a timely basis.
· Shall be responsible for Site Inventory ensuring all end user requirements are met
· Shall be responsible for ensuring freight contracts are managed and freight cost are minimised
DUTIES
Supply, Inventory and Warehousing
· Includes, stock control and reviews, materials, systems, cataloguing, freight management, fuel issues, stock takes, expediting, stock issues, demand forecasting, Invoice management, contractor management and receipts.
· Provide leadership to the Supply Chain team to ensure KPIs and other targets are met and to assist direct reports in achieving their full potential by gaining new skills through effective mentoring. Maintain High Performance Team.
· Implement Supply Chain strategy in a manner that facilitates the achievement of the Regional business strategies and objectives.
