There is an exciting
opportunity to join The Fred Hollows Foundation’s international Programs
team and contribute to the growth of an international development
organisation that focuses on blindness prevention globally.
Based in Africa (preferably Nairobi) with regular regional and international travel, this position is responsible for the implementation of the Foundation’s Human Resources Development (HRD) Strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Working closely with a
number of key partners this position will coordinate and implement Human
resource development initiatives in the region ensuring harmonization
of activities to maximise outcomes.
We currently deliver programs in Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Eritrea and are establishing our presence in Ethiopia.
We are seeking a motivated individual who has a significant level of experience and education in health workforce planning and managing public health programs in an international development setting, including programs addressing health workforce issues.
Exposure and knowledge of eye health programming is highly desirable.
The successful applicant will also have solid work experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, the capacity to work effectively in cross-cultural environments and have the partnership capacity to engage and influence senior levels of government, multi-lateral agencies and other relevant stakeholders to build strategic advocacy.
Your experience in full cycle project management, PC literacy, fluency in written and spoken English as well as your tenacity and resilience will all help you to be a success in the role.
