Muhimbili Welcome Programme (MWP)
Muhimbili Wellcome Programme (MWP) is based in Muhimbili University of Health & Allied Sciences, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania and is a clinical and laboratory based research group conducting long term follow up of the Muhimbili Sickle Cohort and clinical trials of treatments.
DATA MANAGER: An experienced person is required to fulfil the following role
- Daily management of the research data capture systems used by the main MSC and nested projects including clinical trials.
- Conduct routine data extraction tasks, perform simple summary statistics and prepare data reports as per requests by the Principal Investigators.
- Write and maintain SOPs and workflows describing activities and essential documentation regarding management of the database and of data related activities.
Essential requirements:
(1) Experience of data management using relational databases with an excellent, proven knowledge of SQL,preferably in aresearch setting;
(2); Experience in managing junior staff;
(3) Excellent written and spoken English
(3); Good MS Office skills.
The positions requires excellent communication skills in Kiswahili and English, self motivation and confidence. The position is for 1 year initially subject to satisfactory performance.
Desirable requirements:, Experience of implementing OpenClinica databases, Experience of designing or modifying research data capture systems and relational database applications, including reading and writing PHP, SQL; MySQL or Postgressql.
