PSI seeks an energetic and dynamic individual for the position of HR Training and Development Manager to play a central role in equipping staff with the HR knowledge and skills necessary to improve performance and increase PSI’s health impact. This position is based in Washington, DC and entails approximately 30% travel. The position reports to the Director, People Department.
The position will enable country programs throughout PSI to meet and exceed minimum standards in Human Resources and Management, to provide comprehensive management capacity building activities to DC and field staff, and to ensure the existence of a competent and well trained network of Human Resources Managers throughout PSI.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Development of training curriculum in Human Resources, to include the generation and dissemination of toolkits and templates to allow platforms to establish sound systems, improve their effectiveness and meet minimum standards; • Coordinate the major activities of the global Human Resources Network (HRN), comprised of country level HR professionals and PD members, including STTA, P2P and Working Groups. • Provide on-going mentoring and support to senior members of the HRN; • Establish goals and metrics to measure the success and effectiveness of PD capacity building efforts; • Plan and execute regular regional workshops among key human resources staff in all regions to ensure sharing of tools, strategies and best practices; • Facilitate or co-facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Identify (and train or co-train as needed) other qualified facilitators to provide similar trainings, as appropriate; • Procure, manage the delivery, and evaluate the success of Management and Leadership training to PSI staff; • Lead platform technical assistance efforts both in-country and from a distance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Relevant post-graduate degree or equivalent experience. • Significant experience in Human Resources. • Excellent organizational, writing, and budgeting skills. • Excellent group facilitation experience and skills. • Preferred: minimum 2 years experience of training & development, preferably in an international development organization.
