Assistant Dispatch Coordinator -North Mara Gold Mine

We seek to appoint Assistant Dispatch Coordinator at our North Mara Gold Mining operation.

Reporting to the Dispatch Coordinator

Duration: Two Years

Roster: 6 weeks on 3 weeks off

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Performs Dispatch system administration task to ensure all system updates are carried out in time Provide effective support to Mine department (production and engineering) by identifying areas where value can be added through the application of dispatch system

· Develop and produce accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports for mine operations, engineering and management

· Work closely with Mine Operations, Technical Services and Geology departments to ensure daily production targets are met.

· Maintains all dispatch system databases and ensure optimum performance of fleet management system

· Provides training in the use of the effective use “mine dispatch” system and ensure training and localization targets are met.

· Provide training/coaching to Dispatchers, Engineers and Supervisor

· Co-ordinates the hardware repairs as required with mine maintenance departments

· Analyzes and interprets information in reference to mine operations

· Produce mine production statistics, evaluate trends and recommend corrective action.

· Supervises the mine dispatch team and builds their capabilities to enhance their ability to achieve optimum performance.

· Identifies key performance indicators for mining operation and dispatch team, monitors and reports achievement of targets as part of performance appraisal.

· Monitor all tasks being undertaken by Dispatch Controllers and Shift Supervisors to ensure required works are completed to defined scopes of work, contractual conditions, as well as departmental, site and company procedures

Education Requirements:

· A degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification

· Strong communication skills,

· A working knowledge of, computer applications, mine design, mine equipment performance and production optimization

Experience Requirements:

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an open pit mine

· Previous work experience in the mining industry in a dispatch environment is a must

· Experience in the administration, use and operation of dispatch systems like Leica/Jigsaw, Modular, etc is a must

· A working knowledge of standard mining industry (mine design) software, AutoCAD and SQL Query, Database Server application will be advantageous.

· Skilled in the use of standard office software including the MS Office suite of applications

· Good written and oral communication skills in English

· Possesses a recognized valid driving license
