Job Summary:
Pathfinder International Uganda (PI U), a global leader in reproductive health, is rapidly expanding its programmatic scope and geographic coverage in Uganda. PIU is presently implementing various projects on Integration of Family planning into HIV/AIDS services (PMTCT, and ART), RH/AYSRH in Northern, North Eastern and Western districts of Uganda. PI U has recently warn an award to scale up Reproductive Health/Family Planning and Child Survival services and activities through local private health facilities including clinics in the districts of Kyenjojo, Kasese and Kamwenge. Pathfinder Uganda seeks to recruit a Project Manager who will be based at KIND Initiative (partner) in Kyenjojo Office.
The Project Manager will be responsible to supervise and provide technical assistance to the project partners, working closely with the District Health Teams, Youth and Women groups, other RH stakeholders, designated health facilities and Youth Corners and Community resource groups as well as routinely and appropriately link up with Strides Regional Office based in Fort Portal. The Project Manager will oversee all field based activities including trainings, documentation/dissemination, quality data collection, timely report preparation, monitoring and supervision of RH/FP/Child Survival services in clinical and non-clinical settings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee finance and budget management of activities.
• Maintain all records and documentation of project activities in line with Pathfinder International policies and regulations.
• Carry-out training needs assessment, timely preparation for training events and provision of quality job aides/materials for behavior change
• Management, supervision and ongoing support to project partners and their staff as well (clinical staff, peer educators, etc.).
• Ongoing performance monitoring of targets, timely reporting and evaluation of the project. This will include reviewing and refining indicators, data collection instruments and reporting format for partners.
• Compile monthly and quarterly reports and administration of activities as requested by the Country Representative.
• Network and Lobby with other organizations.
• Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the private clinics and linking them with district based FP Commodities Supply Chain System.
• Participate in organizational processes such as annual planning meetings, staff evaluations, staff and team meetings as required.
• Work with District Health Office and partners with the implementation of a consistent, supportive, and sustainable supervision system related to reproductive health and Child Survival service delivery.
• Document lessons learned and best practices, and "stories" that illustrate the challenges and successes of the project.
• Assist with developing effective referral systems with other services in the catchment areas of the clinics to fulfill other needs that young people present with.
• Implement any other task assigned by the Country Representative.
Job requirement
Essential skills and experience include: managing RH/Child Survival programs, working with young people, community/health systems strengthening, working with health private sector programs, skills in performance monitoring and program management approaches.
