Campaign Manager - Health and Education For All £Competitive + relocation expenses if required Oxford/ existing Oxfam location internationally
Campaigning for change is one of the best ways to achieve lasting solutions to poverty. Our Essential Services campaign has already made a positive difference in so many ways, from global campaigns like the Robin Hood Tax to national campaigns in dozens of Southern countries. But with your help, we know we can increase access to quality health and education in countries right across the world, improving the livelihoods of more people than ever before.
The role In this key role you’ll be responsible for coordinating the global Essential Services campaign for Oxfam GB, taking strategic leadership for the Health and Education For All campaign. It’s all about getting influential decision makers and the public onboard. That means managing and motivating a project team of campaigners, developing and implementing work plans and objectives, looking after a significant budget, negotiating for resources and supporting delivery. Not only that, but you’ll also work closely with colleagues in Oxfam International to coordinate our significant contribution to the international campaign on essential services. What’s more you’ll help shape the work and strategy of the department as a member of the management team.
What we’re looking for You’ll have experience of leading complex campaigning projects on an international and national scale. Experience that’s given you extensive knowledge of influencing change and a good understanding of the crucial role of health and education in addressing poverty. With your far-reaching advocacy experience, you’ll know a thing or two about influencing international policy in this area and sound judgement. But as well as operating at a strategic level, you’ll need to have worked with people on the ground. So strong people management skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels are a must. As is an innovative and creative approach to problem solving. And due to the nature of the role, you’ll also need some flexibility with regard to travel.
About Oxfam A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
