The Partnership for a HIV Free Generation - Kenya (HFG/K) is an initiative designed to achieve a 50% reduction in HIV incidence among youth aged 15-24 years in Kenya. The project is aligned within the PEPFAR prevention strategy and the country of Kenya’s prevention strategy. The aim is to cultivate a network of global and local partnerships among the private sector, government and implementing partners to define youth-focused HIV prevention interventions, increase collaboration, leverage resources and capabilities, increase youth access to knowledge, services, education, life skills and employment and reduce gender disparities, violence, drug and alcohol use. This work will be accomplished through national and regional mass media campaigns, coordination and participation of implementing partners for youth activities in Kenya and initiation of private-public partnerships for enhanced impact. The project will generate an independent, self-sustainable entity called HIV Free Generation, Kenya
PATH seeks to recruit a Finance Associate to provide support to the program team and Finance Advisor of the Partnership for an HIV-Free Generation, Kenya office. The Finance Associate will be responsible for verification of all financial transactions to ensure compliance with donor requirements and PATH policies, review and disburse all MPESA payments and Funds transfer through e banking and process payment vouchers for suppliers payments, travel advance requests and other payments requests .Specific responsibilites include but are not limited to:
- Maintain an up to date, accurate and complete records of program finance files in required formats for all financial transactions.
- Process payment vouchers for suppliers payments, travel advance requests and other payments request, track outstanding advances and follow up to ensure all are cleared on timely basis as per PATH Kenya financial policies.
- Guide staff in processing financial requests (travel requests, Expense claims,), travel expense reports and work orders for short term consultants.
- Assist in reconciliation of Assets, Staff accounts, Payables and Receivables on a monthly basis and follow up with Staff, Creditors and Debtors to resolve outstanding issues on a timely manner.
- Process Tax exemption certificates, submit for approval, keep track and follow with relevant authorities and ensure complinace with Kenya tax laws.
- Maintain Petty Cash on an Imprest basis while ensuring compliance with the Cash Handling Policy.
- Respond to staff and suppliers inquiries on any financial issues on a timely basis
- As part of the Finance team, Identify opportunities for streamlining office processes, make recommendations to the finance team team for possible implementation.
- Fluent in spoken and written english.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities
- Organized and able to plan in order to meet reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Strong administrative skilss with demonstrated knowledge in computers(microsoft word,excel,powerpoint and outlook).
- Knowledge of Principles and practices of basic office management and finance procedures.
- Ability to perform stated roles with minimal supervision
- Degree in Business management,
- Minimum experience of two years working with a public or private organization.
- Experience must reflect knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
- CPA part two will be an added advantage
- Knowledge in QuickBooks will be an added advantage
