Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) is a national designated public postal operator, established by Act of Parliament No. 19 1993 and became operational on 1st January, 1994. The Corporation is owned by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. The principal function of the Corporation is to provide universal postal and ancillary services within and between places outside the United Republic of Tanzania.
The Corporation is looking for suitably qualified Tanzania citizens of high personal integrity to fill the following positions:-
1. Head Of Procurement Management Unit -1 POST
QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of Masters Degree/Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement! Logistics Management or equivalent qualifications from recognized higher Learning Institution with CSPS.
He/she must be registered with the Procurement and Supplies Proffessionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) as Authorized Supplies Officer or Stock Verifier.
Ability to plan, organize and supervise.
Self-motivated and ability to work efficiently and effectively even under pressure.
Excellent communication skills in both Kiswahili and English.
Ability to work with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to deliver accurate and high quality output timely.
At least eight (8) years of work experience in a similar field out of which, four (4) years should be at a senior position in a reputable organization.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, direct, organize, coordinate and control supply operations in the Corporation.
Promote commercials relationship with internal and external customers.
Prepare periodic reports for the TPC Tender Board.
Ensure conformity with' Public Procurement Act, and its regulations.
Provide timely advice to accounting officer (CEO) Tender Board and use department.
Evaluate all procurement requirements and recommend the most appropriate procedure.
Secretary to the TPC Tender Board.
Responsible for internal training in procurement procedures.
Develop materials management policy including sourcing policy.
Responsible for contract administration including preparation of contracts and issuing approved contract.
Promote business competition in supply of goods and services to the Corporation.
Exercise budgetary control in line with the Corporation budgetary control procedures.
Review practices and procedures concerning all aspects of procurement and draw up guidelines, for applications across the organisation.
Advice professionalism in various procurement aspects and materials management.
Ensure an economic re-order level and competitive service level
Promote business competitions in the procurement and supply of goods in the Corporation.
Review regularly the material stock levels including operational equipment holding requirements.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
DUTY STATION
Successful candidate will be stationed at the TPC Head Quarters Dar es Salaam.
