Organizational Setting and Reporting
The African Climate Policy Centre (ACPC) of the Special Initiative Division (SID) of ECA is seeking for Communication and Public Information (Web Content & Social Media).
The internship is for three months with an opportunity for extension, pending on the needs of the programme.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work for five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of the Senior Climate Change Adaptation Expert of ACPC and other members of the Adaptation Team.
Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to
- Assistance in drafting and preparing web content
- Undertake research for speeches and presentations;
- Web presentation of stories, images, videos and other content;
- Social media analysis;
- Update and maintain mailing/contact lists for media and other key contacts; any other communications-related duties as required; and
- Identify content and produce material for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter);
- Support audience engagement on social media platforms;
- Solicit visual material to be used on social media platforms;
- Assist in curating and presenting stories, images and videos;
- Review and edit web stories, headlines and captions liaising with the Communication Officer to quality and consistency;
- Proofread and reformulate material for optimal web presentation;
- Solicit material for website; and
- Assist with other related tasks as needed.
