Teofilo Kisanji University (TEKU) is owned by The Moravian Church in Tanzania. It is fully registered under The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU), a body which regulates the activities of all Universities in Tanzania. TEKU is a rapid expanding University and would like to recruit the following members of staff:-
2. Administrator cum Planning Officer (DAP)
Reports to: The Deputy Vice Chancellor Planning,
Finance and Administration (DVCPFA)
Education Qualifications:
Holder of Master’s Degree in Public Administration,
Human Resource Management, Business Administration or University degree in Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Business Administration with working experience of at least five (5) years in a senior position plus ICT skills.
Other Qualifications:
i. Person of high integrity
ii. Ability to plan, organize and supervise
iii. Self-motivated and ability to work efficiently and effectively even under pressure
iv. Excellent communication skills in both Kiswahili and English
v. Ability to work with a range of stakeholders
vi. Ability to deliver accurate and high quality output timely
Duties and responsibilities
A. Administrative Activities
i. Staff recruitment, retention and terminations
ii. Maintenance of personnel files and Personnel forms.
iii. Benefits administration and staff compensation
iv. Counsel and advice to staff on personal and work related issues including providing guidance and direction to management team and employees on human resource.
v.Develop, manage and implement 'personnel policies; develop a Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
vi. Work with staff and management to facilitate staff development and training opportunities
vii. Communicate and ensure compliance and consistency with office practices and policies and compliance with all employment related laws
viii. Effectively interface with all levels of the organization to coordinate and oversee all of the people-related and office management activities.
ix. Make certain that all administrative systems and processes are highly reliable, finely tuned and well delivered with an aim toward pro-action rather than reaction.
B. Planning Activities
i. To promote and implement the planning policies and objectives as set out in the department's adopted plans and elsewhere.
ii. To assess a full range of planning and related applications and to write concise and accurate reports on these for consideration by senior officers and/or Comittee, within agreed targets.
iii. To formulate reasoned professional comments and recommendations for consideration by senior officers and/or Committee.
iv. When appropriate, to negotiate changes to proposals with applicants and/or their professional advisers.
v. To determine whether or not proposals require planning permission or consent under advertisement control legislation.
vi. To provide pre-application advice and guidance on a wide range of development proposals.
vii. To advise members of the public, applicants and other professionals on matters relating to planning applications and enquiries and complaints.
Remuneration:
An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate in accordance with the University's salary scale of TAC 13 - 14.
