The Arusha Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (AUWSA) is a legally established entity responsible for the overall operations and management of water supply and sanitation services in Arusha City. It is among of the best Authorities in Tanzania.
The core function of the Authority is to deliver excellent water supply and sanitation services for all categories of customers and stakeholders in Arusha City.
In order to attain its vision and mission, AUWSA is seeking to recruit dynamic, experienced, competent and qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant posts within the Authority's establishment.
Head of Internal Audit Unit - (1 Vacant Post)
Appointing Authority: Board of Directors.
Reports To: Managing Director
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:
The successful applicant must be / have:
Holder of Form IV / VI certificate.
Holder of a Master Degree in Finance, Business Administration (majoring in Accounting) from a recognized Institution.
Must has a full professional qualification (CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) from a recognized Institution and registered by NBAA under Associate or Fellow category.
The Candidate must have working experience of at least eight
years in a relevant field of-which at least two (2) years should be in a senior position.
Employment Terms: Three years Contract, Renewable upon satisfactorily performance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
(i) To supervise installation of internal control tools,
(ii)To prepare audit schedules and work plans of subordinates and ensure implementation
(iii) To review operational systems, procedures, policies, controls am guidelines and recommend improvements.
(iv) To supervise the conduct of routine checks on the internal control system
(v) To execute value for money audits, carry out risk assessment procedures and devise risk mitigation measures.
(vi) To follow up on internal and external audits to ensure that queries and replied and ensure that recommendations are implemented in time,
(vii) To execute special investigations, special inspections and surprise checks.
(viii) To advise the Managing Director on audit issues _
(ix) To 'supervise review of financial manuals, policies, regulations and procedures.
(x) To oversee preparation of audit progress reports.
(xi) To conduct performance appraisal to all staff under the Unit.
(xii) To review audited annual accounts before submission to external auditors.
(xiii) To perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Managing Director/Board of Directors.
