If you have at least five years’ background in practical Enterprise Architecture and certified with a recognised EA framework such as TOGAF, plus ideally PRINCE2 and CISSP; experience of all aspects of the software development cycle; and a working knowledge of mobile, Cloud and infrastructure solutions environments, this could be your next career step.
It is an outstanding opportunity to join the team responsible for the Secretariat’s IT strategy and in particular providing direction on advanced and appropriate technology, systems analysis and software acquisition.
Specifically, you will assist in the choice and development of IT solutions, ensuring adherence to EA; monitor and assess new technology and advances in technical and application architectures; and lead the development of our technology and EA across business, information, application and technology.
Principal activities will include defining the target architectures along with their roadmaps and timescales; optimising the application landscapes; and managing the appropriate governance forums to ensure the agreement and maintenance of the overall EA and ensure that the process delivers strategic imperatives.
To succeed, you must have a degree in IT or a related subject; TOGAF or other recognised EA framework certification, advanced analytical, strategic planning and problem solving skills; and experience of reviewing, selecting and procuring technical and applications architecture; architecting digital services and working with 3rd parties; and diverse platforms.
Able to articulate ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, you must have excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills; experience of engaging senior people credibly; and keen attention to detail.
To be considered, you must be a citizen of a Commonwealth country and have the right to live and work in the UK.
As the inter-governmental body of the Commonwealth, comprising 53 independent sovereign states, our aim is to provide sustainable and people-centred development through professional advice, transfer of best practice and the enhancement of skills and knowledge. This is an exciting time to join us as we develop our services to meet increasing demand.
Deadline for applications is 17:00 BST on 30 July 2015.
