Reporting to the Maintenance Training Superintendent we seek to appoint a Senior Heavy Mechanical Equipment Trainer at our Bulyanhulu gold mining operation in Tanzania. The incumbent will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance training of Mobile plant equipment.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Development of training modules in Mobile equipment for Mobile Mechanics - Trucks and Loaders, Tyre Fitters, LV Mechanics, HVD equipments Drivers and Operators, Drill Mechanics and Operators and Lube and Washbay trades.
• Ensure best practices are used when delivering training courses by developing course outlines, lesson plans, teaching presentations, learners hand outs/books, practical training aids and assessment tools for each course delivered.
• Deliver training courses to all levels of BGM employees.
• Involve the workforce/clients in the decision making process to indentify course requirements.
• Identify a range of evaluation strategies to accommodate individual needs.
• Provide mechanical mobile/equipment educational pathways that lead to international qualification.
• Develop and construct hydraulic and pneumatic circuit board simulators.
• Make courses available and accessible to as many people as possible via flexible delivery strategies.
• Produce reports and presentations using Ms Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
• Maintain training records for BGM employees attending the training.
• Carry out production maintenance work as required on both surface and underground.
• Order equipment from outside suppliers as required.
• Coach and mentor training officer’s (mobile equipment) to a high standard.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Education Requirements:
• Mechanics Trade Certificate from a recognised training institution.
• Diploma in teaching.
• Advanced trade certificate or Mechanical Diploma.
Experience Requirements:
• 10 years experience in a mechanical teaching position or as a mechanical maintenance on-the-job trainer.
• Experience with component installation and repair of Mobile Trucks, Loaders and Hydraulics systems.
• Experience with calibration, repair and replacement of components on mining mobile equipment.
• Strong Hydraulic and faulting finding skills.
• Exposure to the challenges of operating in mine sites and in particular underground work.
• A strong personal commitment to implement mechanical / mobile policies and procedures, with the ability to foster a strong safety culture among mechanical personnel.
• Ability to mentor and work with people from a wide range of nationalities and cultures and the willingness to share skills and knowledge with others.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities and the self-discipline to achieve tasks on time.
