The Communications/PR Officer supports the partnership and communications department in successfully implementing the Faith to Action (F2A) Network project.

The Communications/PR Officer supports the partnership and communications department in successfully implementing the Faith to Action (F2A) Network project.
He/she is responsible for successfully developing a communications strategy for the F2A and will develop the F2A network’s communication materials, and as such ensure that high level visibility and profile of the F2A network and project is achieved through materials development, documentation and representation.
General areas of responsibility:
- Responsible for the coordination of F2A publications, press and online activities.
- Monitor and intervene communication developments including coordination of press and online activities such as press conferences, outreach to journalists that includes briefing and providing balanced information to the media.
- Compiles press releases and F2A documentations while taking care of F2A websites or its representation in other websites.
- Develop and maintain a F2A Network member database and develop registration procedures for membership
- Provides technical assistance and training to network members on communicating of SRHR issues to their diverse audiences.
- Compile press releases and F2A documentations and ensure they are updated regularly on F2A websites or member websites.
- Support organising PR events, F2A conferences and workshops.
- Support in preparing regular reports in line with DSW’s and/or donor guidelines and procedures
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- University degree (MA or MSc preferred)
- Excellent English language skills (oral and written) required, additional language skills advantageous (French, Arabic and Swahili preferred)
- Experience with developing media campaigns, press releases, and working with websites and social media tools
- Interest in inter-religious work, sensitivity to different faiths
- Knowledge of data-management software and computer skills
- At least 3 years of relevant working experience
- Ability to work effectively in teams, build positive working relationships and foster open communications.
- Ability to work in international and multicultural settings, including international travel.
