Our client, Medical Stores Limited (MSL), a State- owned company operating under the Companies Act 1992, is the largest pharmaceutical and medical distributor in Zambia, which contributes to health care provision in Zambia. Since 2004, Crown Agents has been the management contractor responsible for the development and management of MSL. Currently operating in Zambia, they are seeking to employ the services of qualified and experienced individuals to take up the following position:

Commercial & Finance Director: Job Description
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the business transformation of MSL into a MSL Board- approved Social Enterprise, with reference to the Zambian laws, rules and regulations. Your duties will include:

• Transforming the MSL financing mechanism from Government grant to self- financing, including the invoicing for all services (Government and others).
• Commercializing the MSL services as well as preparing an investment plan for MSL, providing the vision, objectives, strategies, and business goals for new business opportunities.
• Bringing commercial overview of the MSL's activities and generating additional revenue and income streams through the delivery of its mission and strategic road map.
• Taking responsibility for managing of virtual credit facilities by MSL to the Public Health System Within guidelines which will be set by the MOH and within the limits of the annual budget.

To be considered for this position, you must be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or CIMA) with at least 5 years' experience as a Chief Accountant/Finance/Commercial Manager. An MBA degree (finance/strategy) or experience in a similar role is an added advantage. Knowledge of public health agenda, policies and strategies, including development aid sector financing is essential. We would particularly welcome applications from Zambian professionals.
