Junior Finance Officer for our Nekempte Satellite Office.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Junior Finance Officer will be responsible to ensure that all financial transactions are compliant with local laws, donor regulations, and internal policies; keep custody of petty cash and maintain cash register book; record transactions into Quick books; maintaining proper filing system; preparing and paying income and withholding taxes; follow up and ensure timely settlement of travel and work advances; update the status of bank balance; and liaison with banks to process CPO’s, drafts, collect bank statements and other documents as required/delegated. He/she will also be responsible to carry out assistance tasks such as ensuing that proper financial policies, procedures and systems are operated and maintained at the field office; budget and report preparation; checking all financial document of field office for completeness and proper expense authorization and coordination of year-end audit.
REQUIREMENT:
- Diploma in Accounting or related field
- Four (4) years of work experience in the field of finance preferably in the NGO sector
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office application and accounting software. QuickBooks knowledge is highly preferred.
- Ability to effectively work in a team.
- Good command of English.
- Oromifa language is mandatory for Nekempte duty station.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
