The role:
The Data Analyst - Nutrition is in charge of planning, designing, analyzing and reporting on nutrition programme data and data from studies, surveys and assessments. The nutrition programme data analyst will also be responsible for documentation of Lessons learnt and best practices of the data collected and outcomes for nutrition sector. S/he will be the focal point on information management System (analysis, interpretation, area office and country nutrition programme profiles. The Data Analyst is directly managed by the Senior Nutrition Specialist and liaises with the Area Representatives and the field nutrition staff for general coordination and support. All programme data, survey or study reports must be submitted to the Nutrition technical specialist. The data analyst will be available for solving any problem arising related to nutrition data collection and processing in the field and henc e ensures frequent field visits to the area offices to provide technical support to the field staff on appropriate data collection.
Qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor or master’s degree in Epidemiology, nutrition or Public health.
• At least five years of experience in humanitarian work with expertise in statistical tools and advanced research methodology
• Experience in surveillance related to Nutrition
• Knowledge of nutrition program coverage, survey methodologies such as SLEAC and/or SQUEAC
• Ability to collect and triangulate information, interpret complex data sets and present them in understandable forms
• Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, strong writing skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks, often on a time-sensitive basis
• Advanced skill in the use of computer software such as spreadsheets and database programs, as well as statistics and data a nalysis software (such as ENA for SMART, EPI-INFO, SPSS) as well as advanced skill in Access
• Ability to work in teams, in multi-cultural work environments and stand for integrity of the job
