The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Radio/Telephone Technician in the Information Management Office of the Embassy.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Radio-Telephone Technician
incumbent programs, installs, and repairs mobile communication radios,
telephone systems and satellite dishes. The incumbent also runs and

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion

be submitted.1. Required Education: Completion of two years college diploma in electronics or computer science is required.
2. Required Experience: Three years experience in repairing/maintaining of electronic equipment plus one-year basic computer skills is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading English and Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading Amharic is required.
4. Other Skills: Incumbent must understand the specialized communications needs of some mission sections and be familiar with the local terrain as it relates to placement of repeater sites and also must have good technical skills to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems and to maximize the capabilities of resources. Must have a valid Class 2 driver’s license.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Ability to interact tactfully with Mission personnel and public in person and by phone is required.
SELECTION PROCESS
