An existing strong teaching and research team in Construction Materials in Engineering is expanding due to growing undergraduate and graduate student numbers in Civil Engineering. A candidate, who wants to follow a career in the field of construction materials, is required. Career development depends on the candidate’s academic achievements in teaching, development of a national and international research profile and community service.

Duties:
• Under and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development in Construction Materials, Statics and Mechanics
• postgraduate study guidance and research in Construction Materials
• academic and departmental administration.

Requirements:
• MSc in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Materials. Lecturer: A minimum of three years’ academic experience in teaching and research with a proven research profile in construction materials
• progress with the completion of a PhD. Junior Lecturer: A minimum of one year’s academic experience in teaching and research assistance
• the intention and willingness to enrol for a PhD in Construction Materials
• fluency in both Afrikaans and English, or in the case of persons not fluent in Afrikaans, willingness to learn the language within an agreed period of time.
