Position Reports To: Group Head of HR & CEO
Brief Job Overview: Responsible for the Human Resources Function
Main Responsibilities:
- Acting as HR business partner to Heads of businesses & other senior leadership & employees
- Managing employee relations within locations responsible for, which may include the coordination of dispute resolution, redundancy and other processes.
- Local coordination in collaboration with Group HR colleagues and department and regional managers of Group HR activity such as performance management, compensation reviews, headcount budgeting, mobility and benefits provision.
- Support the recruiting of staff along with the specialist assistance provided by the Recruitment function and ensure the appropriate coordination of sign off on proposed compensation packages
- Conduct the on-boarding of employees, supported by the HR manager, gathering appropriate details to register for benefits and set up in payroll and directing staff to relevant information Draft/oversee the drafting of contracts of employment and ensure the accuracy of the terms in line with the term sheets that have gone through the approval process, as above.
- Work with colleagues in HR and other departments on projects relevant to locations supported such as local variations of Graduate scheme, setting up new offices etc.
- Overseeing HR records are in compliance with requirements and providing reporting on HR metrics. Oversee payroll processes and reporting as appropriate, liaising with Finance.
- Good experience of relocation & internal mobility
- Good HR & Systems knowledge / experience
- Experience / exposure to Graduate Recruitment
- Excellent knowledge of East Africa employment law
- Knowledge of employment law in other Africa locations (Ghana/DRC/Nigeria)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Professional HR qualification
- Excellent knowledge of East Africa employment law
- Knowledge of employment law in other Africa locations
- 8+ years’ HR generalist experience in Financial / Professional Services or Multi-National companies
- Strong relationship building & influencing skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Well developed stake-holder management skills / experience
- Fluent in English
