Storage Specialist EMC - Nairobi

Looking for EMC storage infrastructure experienced (4+) Resident SAN Administrator Engineer. The candidate will be assigned to a customer site and work very closely with them to manage their storage infrastructure. Daily tasks includes storage provisioning, Monitoring, reporting, trouble shooting, knowledge transfer, capacity planning, reporting, documenting Infrastructure, performance tuning, advice best practices and technology upgrades, etc. The engineer must possess good inter-personal skill, be self starter and motivated, and strive to become the customer trusted advisor. This job is located in Nairobi.

Desired Skills & Experience

Required Skill:

Must have 4+ years of hands-on experience in managing EMC storage technologies such as Vplex, Vmax, VNX, SAN, NAS, Centera, etc
Must have hands-on experience with Storage advanced features such as FAST, VP, Local and remote replication software
Must have hands experience with EMC managing and reporting tools such ECC, Unisphere, performance manager, San Manager, SMC, etc
Must have good understanding of EMC technologies architecture, and able to articulate features and value proposition
Trouble shooting and performance analysis skills
Familiar with EMC support processes and procedures
Experience with backup software and technologies is a big plus
VMware and Cloud experiences are big plus
Must be self motivated and managed. Work with least supervision
Good interpersonal skills, and consultative approach
Must have good overall IT background and knowledge
Relevant industry certifications
