The Department of Surgery incorporates several surgical specialities including a full-fledged section of Dental surgery. The Section provides comprehensive dental services supported by laboratory, radiology and operating room facilities for performing procedures under general Anaesthesia. A state-of-the-art prosthodontic laboratory has been recently set-up.
There are well established and structured residency training programs in Operative Dentistry and Orthodontics. The residents learn a variety of treatment modalities under the guidance and supervision of experienced faculty.

Requirements |
Candidates must have completed a structured post-graduate training programme from a reputable institution and possess FCPS, Fellowship in Dental Surgery or equivalent. Applicants for Associate Professor should have at least 8 years of teaching /research experience in an HEC recognized University or a postgraduate institution, with 5 years’ post-terminal experience of teaching. S/he should also have minimum 5 research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC with at least 2 of these publications in the last five years, while those for Assistant Professor should have at least 2 years experience as Senior Instructor/equivalent. Candidates possessing administrative experience and desirous to head the section of Dental Surgery are encouraged to apply |
