DOT’s vision is to make these opportunities available to marginalized people, especially women and youth, as a strategy to eradicate poverty, vulnerability and gender inequality.
DOT is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada with operations in 12 different countries, Rwanda being one of them. The StartUp! program targets struggling SME’s and aspiring entrepreneurs to equip them with practical business skills to grow their business and seize financial and market opportunities.
To help achieve its objectives, DOT Rwanda seeks to recruit young university and college graduates who are enthusiastic about development their community, passionate about business/entrepreneurship to work as start up! Interns/trainers where they will serve to train and coach small business operators and aspiring entrepreneurs to leverage growth.
This opportunity points to a 9-month, full-time commitment with a stipend. The program includes one month of intensive face-to-face training, daily coaching support and a position leading to integration of technology, business writing skills and local business knowledge in order to support growth of small businesses and start of new ones.
Placements will be in Kigali.
Requirements
- University/college degree in business related fields or direct business experience and strong business knowledge
- Passion for community development
- Self-directed learner
- Collaborative (not directive)
- Strong communication skills
- Mastery of Word and Excel
- English language skills
