The Anti-Corruption Research Network (ACRN) would like to invite submissions from young researchers for its annual anti-corruption research paper competition.
The anti-corruption research paper competition gives young scholars an opportunity to take up the challenge of filling important knowledge gaps in the field, present innovative approaches for measuring and understanding corruption and showcase new findings on what works and what does not in tackling corruption and ensuring sound governance.
Focus
The submission can be on any topic related to corruption. The following are examples of the diversity of issues that can be broached:
- How can we empirically measure more covert or clandestine forms of corruption such as nepotism, influence-peddling, astro-turfing?
- Supply-side solutions to corruption: can market forces be shaped to fight corruption?
- How does climate change impact upon the corruption risk landscape?
- How does better access to information contribute to the fight against corruption?
We are looking for papers that methodologically and analytically sound, innovative in approach and produce fresh, policy-relevant insights. Purely conceptual, theoretical or essaystic contributions will not be accepted.
For examples of short-listed papers from the 2010 competition, please see: http://corruptionresearchnetwork.org/resources/frontpage-articles/the-acrn-research-paper-competition
