The Kenya Association of Manufacturers is seeking to competitively fill the following positions that have arisen within the organisation:-
Executive Officer – Regulatory Affairs
Reporting to the Head of Policy Research & Advocacy, the successful candidate will possess a degree either in all or some of the following disciplines: Economics, Law, and Policy Analysis; have 3-5 years experience, solid knowledge and demonstrated track record in business advocacy with a focus on regulations (Standards, environment, health etc).
S/he should have excellent communication, interpersonal, public speaking and presentation skills.
Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Policy Research & Advocacy, the successful candidate will be responsible for:-
- Engaging the Central Government, its institutions and Local Authorities on KAM advocacy agenda related to the business regulatory environment issues;
- Identifying and keep under constant review regulatory requirements that impact on manufacturing sector
- Handling enquiries from member companies on regulatory issues and provision of advice on the same
- Representing the Association in fora of interest to members on matters related to regulatory affairs.
- Engaging members of KAM through committees and sectors.
- Preparing position papers on business regulatory issues of interest to manufacturing.
- Timely preparation of regulatory related information to members and all stakeholders.
- Coordinating advocacy issues for multi-stakeholder dialogues platforms.
Executive Officer – Research & Business Writing
Reporting to the Head of Policy Research and Advocacy Unit, the successful candidate will conduct research on economic, business and political trends, write and edit technical articles and pieces for public media and a variety of internal KAM publications.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Economics, Policy Analysis or Communications, from a recognized University, with at least 3 years experience preferably working with media.
In addition, they should have demonstrated ability in research coupled with a flair for business writing. Desktop publishing skills and ability to manage publishing in various media from inception to distribution will be an added advantage.

- Manage healthy relations with the media.
Executive Officer – PR & Communications
This is a leadership position with oversight role on the organisation’s PR and communications function.
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the successful candidate will have a Masters degree in Communications and at least 5 years work experience in a busy media environment, with skills and experience in protocol and corporate affairs, business writing, knowledge and competence in other disciplines e.g. Business, law, economics, policy analysis and human resource development will be an added advantage.

- Design and implement internal and external Communication Strategy and ensure its regular review
- Ensure effective and timely communication to members and other stakeholders
- Track KAM engagement meetings with key Partners
- Manage the KAM Corporate Image
- Provide oversight to KAM Corporate Events
- Provide oversight to the implementation of Corporate Communications Policy, Standards and Procedures;
- Oversee audience segmentation to ensure information is targeted to appropriate groups
- Develop respective databases for various types of communications;
- Edit various publications for production and dissemination- i.e. Executive Brief, Newsflash, Policy Brief, Industry Magazine, and Marketing Brochures for Membership & KAM Consulting services;
- Edit and publish OPEDS, Press releases and statements;
- Oversee content management interactive website to ensure real-time information services to users
- Ensure timely internal communicate through appropriate channels.
- Provide oversight on budget management, fundraising, income generation and expenditure for the Communications function
Executive Officer – Human Resource & Administration
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration possibly with a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management and at least 3 years work experience in HR and Administration.

The successful candidate will provide oversight to Human Resource Management including:-

The successful candidate will provide oversight to Human Resource Management including:-
- Review staff establishment against the strategic plan and advise the Board and management on HR capacity gaps;
- Advise management and the Board on HR Policies and procedures governing staff recruitment, compensation, benefits, motivation, loyalty, productivity, optimization, discipline, health and safety, welfare and communication within KAM;
- Develop and implement a HRM and HRD Strategy
- Manage recruitment, selection, placement/deployment, orientation/induction;
- Identify employee skill gaps and recommend training and development prorgammes;
- Design and execute training and development program to bridge skill gaps and corporate values;
- Review the HR Manual and Organisational Manual;
- Provide oversight on administrative matters including procurement, business processes and procedures, staff leave and welfare;
- Provide oversight to recruitment standards and procedures
- Ensure staff motivation and reduced exposure to staff turnover;
- Ensure updated job descriptions for all employees at all times;
- Match staff deployment with KAM organizational objectives and strategies;
- Improve institutional performance through training, development, motivation and inculcation of a customer centric culture embedded on corporate values
- Supervise Assistant HR Administration staff
