Position Title: Assistant Reproductive Health & HIV AIDS Officer

Position Grade: NOA

Position Location: UNHCR Kampala Uganda

Effective: 01 January 2012

Under the direct supervision of the Public Health Officer the incumbent will perform the following: Advocacy, Coordination and Programme management functions:

• Coordinate and advocate for HIV and refugee issues with National bodies, the UN Country HIV Theme Groups, and major HIV donors;

• Coordinate Reproductive Health and HIV activities and ensure that decisions are implemented;

• Identify priority health issues and key data requirements for programme planning and monitoring;

• Planning and coordinating policy development, monitoring and evaluation, and advocacy for the HIV and Reproductive Health (RH) programmes;

• Coordinate the related technical sectors to improve efficiency and to compliment the services they provide;

• Advocate for sufficient technical capacity within UNHCR and among its -partners, and make appropriate recommendations to achieve the country operation’s objectives;

• Ensure quality programmes by using UNHCR’s corporate tools to assess their technical soundness and to generate data for evidence-based decisions;

• Work closely with other technical staff in the region as well as at headquarters and elsewhere in the world to share ideas and disseminate important information and experiences;

• Perform other duties as required
