The purpose of the role is to develop processes to assist the Vice President: Health to establish sustainable, integrated public health across the Continental Africa Region (CAR), in order to ensure that we achieve our objectives to create a better future for our communities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
The role holder has the following accountabilities and authorities:
- Design processes to be implemented at the Business Unit and Regional levels, consistent with Corporate and Regional policy and strategy, to enable and ensure good community/public health practices.
- Plan and execute the implementation of consistent community/public health processes across the Continental Africa Region.
- Advise the Vice President: Health on areas that require revision, taking on board new community/public knowledge and consideration to evolving policy frameworks.
- Provide the Vice President: Health with information, analysis and insights needed to improve the relevance and alignment of the entire reporting process from Business Unit to Corporate level.
- Provide training, as needed, in the community/public health field to those at the Business Unit level who are involved in ensuring good practices.
- Support formulation and implementation of a capacity building plan throughout CAR, including recruitment and development of specialists.
- Support and guide the formulation of community/public health strategies and project interventions for each of the Business Units and monitor overall coherence and alignment to the CAR Sustainability Strategy.
- Provide technical specialist advice on the formulation process of all key documents (management standards, guidelines, sustainability strategies, project documents, partnership agreements, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- An MBChB degree with Post Graduate Qualifications (Master Degree) in Public Health or Community Health.
- Post Graduate qualifications in Management practices would be an advantage
- A minimum of 10 years' experience of working on community development and health issues, of which 4 years must be at management level
- Demonstrated writing skills through demonstrated list of various project proposals, publications, etc.
- Experience in project design, implementing and managing projects
- Ability to build relationships and trust with local and international stakeholders
