PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The incumbent is accountable for providing direct output support to the Laboratory Manager to implement LIMS (laboratory information management system) and best practices, within the analytical laboratory.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Must have at least 3 years experience in Laboratory analytical technic management.
- Ability to speak fluently in both English and French.
- Basic computer skills (including data processing i.e. LIMS)
- Good knowledge of analytical management methods and the ability to develop and optimize OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 Standards.
- Proven competence in management and interpretation of analytical data.
- Ability to develop concise reports, new procedures and equipment control.
- An international driver's license is essential.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND AUTHORITIES OF THE ROLE:
This incumbent would be accountable for the following:
- Conducting fire assaying and water analysis test work.
- Managing analytical issues in strict conformity with lab procedures and standards applicable within the company and making proposals of possible mitigation measures relating to quality and quantity.
- Establishing and maintaining good working relationships through cross functional working relationships.
- Coaching subordinates to optimize effectiveness in role.
- Providing periodic Quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) reports.

Laboratory Manager
REMUNERATION:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a 2 year expatriate contract, which may be renewed, regular leave breaks will apply. The successful candidate would be offered a US dollar based salary.
