POSITION TITLE: Voucher Examiner
POSITION LOCATION: USAID, Office of Financial Management
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week
POSITION GRADE: FSN-8 (Ugshs. 35,778,240 to 51,509,351 p.a. inclusive of allowances).
USAID/Uganda is recruiting a qualified Ugandan to fill the position of Voucher Examiner.
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
Responsible for auditing, and processing for payment, the full range of invoices generated by the Mission’s development portfolio under its Strategic Objective Teams (SOTs).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Education Required: College or University studies required. At least 1 year of college or technical study in accounting or auditing is preferred. A University degree in accounting and/or accreditation to a professional accounting body is highly desirable.
2. Work Experience: From three to five years of progressively responsible experience in voucher examining, accounting and related fiscal work.
3. Language Requirement: Must be fluent in English language.
4. Knowledge: Demonstrated thorough knowledge of professional accounting principles, theories, practices and terminology.
5. Skills and Abilities: Ability to comprehend, logically and properly apply to the voucher examining process and various detailed technical program regulations, terms, and conditions as exist in USAID technical programs. Must have tact and ability to explain clearly and convincingly the rationale for payment disallowances. Computer literacy in word processing using Microsoft, and spreadsheets is required.
