A. LINKED-MEPI-MNCH PROJECT- DEPARTMENT OF PAEDIATRICS&CHILD HEALTH
1. PROGRAM COORDINATOR, –AC/5/244/11-1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants must be holders of Masters Degree in Medicine (Paediatrics or Obstetrics& Gynaecology) from a recognized university and be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Board. Previous experience working in a peripheral hospital in the Ministry of Health will be an added advantage.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the successful candidate will be expected to coordinate training activities at the college of Health Sciences and research at peripheral hospital sites. He/she will be expected to interact with local health management teams and liaise with Ministry of Health officials for training and research activities.
Please note that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual agreement.
2. ADMINISTRATOR, –AC/5/245/11-1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants must have a Degree in Administration or other management related field and atleast one (1) year’s experience in administration. They must have skills and knowledge ion Administration, Office Operations, ICT, Programme Administration, Financial and Personnel Management.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain records of personnel, facilities, supplies and equipment, order supplies and liaise with suppliers, keep inventories of facilities, supplies and equipment, coordinate transport, meetings and training sessions and employee welfare and safety.
Please note that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual agreement.
3. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT-AD/5/246/11- 1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants should be holders of at least CPA II with at least three (3) years accounting or auditing experience. Those who have University’s accounting procedures and experience in handling US Government funded grants will have an advantage.
Duties will include maintenance of accounting systems, preparation of budgets and preparation of accounts for audits.
Please note that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual agreement.
4. DATA CLERK-AD/5/247/11- 2 POSTS-(CHS)
Applicants should be holders of a KCSE C+ and a Diploma in Statistics or related field. They should have at least one (1) year’s work experience in data entry and have working knowledge of SPSS and MS Access. Previous experience in a research setting and ability to do computer programming will be an added advantage.
The successful candidates will be expected to do data entry, data cleaning and generation of statistical summaries.

B. PACE PROJECT- DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL MEDICINE & THERAPEUTICS
1. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT-AD/5/248/11- 1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor of Commerce degree or at least CPA II with at least two (2) years in accounting including budgeting, budget tracking, and audit preparation experience. They must be computer literate and be proficient in Computerized Accounting. Those who have University’s accounting procedures and experience in handling US Government funded grants will have an advantage.
Duties will include maintenance of accounting systems, preparation of budgets and preparation of accounts for audits. He/she will be expected to monitor bank balances and prepare reconciliations.

C. INSTITUTE OF TROICAL AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES (UNITID)
UON-NIH IEARD PROGRAMMES/ORP)
1. PROGRAMME COORDINATOR-1 POST-AC/5/249/11-(CHS)
Applicants must be holders of a first degree and a Masters degree in any of the following: - Project Management, Epidemiology, Public Health or Biostatistics. They must have at least one (1) year’s experience in research management or programme implementation including grants writing and submission. They must be proficient in use of computers and accessing internet resources. They must have excellent interpersonal; communication, organizational, multitasking and analytical skills.
Reporting to the Programme PI, the successful candidate will be expected to responsible for the following:-
Planning, preparation and facilitation of the programme meetings, workshops an conference calls including report wring of the same;
Opening, maintain and updating electronic and print filling systems on research grants;
Preparation and updating of the list serve for the PIs, faculty, students and other partners/customers among other duties.
D. PROGRAMMATIC- STRENGTHENING MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR IMPROVED HEALTH OUTOMES IN KENYA
1. ASSISTANT PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR, (AFYA BORA CONSORTIUM) DEPARTMENT OF OBS& GYANECOLOGY-AD/5/250/11- 1 POST – (CHS)
Applicants should be holders of a Diploma in Business administration and be computer literate. They must have at least three (3) years experience in project administration. They must have skills and knowledge in administration, office operations, financial and personnel management.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain records of personnel, facilities, supplies7 equipment, order supplies and liaise with suppliers among other duties.
NOTE:
1. Applicants for academic posts (AC) should forward ten (10) should forward ten (10) copies of their application letters accompanied by similar number of certified copies of certificates and C.Vs giving details of their qualifications, experience, research activities and publications they appear in.
