Description of duties: 1. To compile data and information and prepare monitoring framework based on national, regional and global indicators on child health. 2. To participate in regional and national capacity building activities (pre-service and in-service) on IMCI, home-based newborn care, community case management of sick child and early childhood development. 3. To assist in supporting activities related to surveillance and prevention of birth defects in Member countries. 4. To participate and contribute to research and training in newborn health activities supported by WHOCC under regional/national network of institutions. 5. To submit six-monthly report to the supervisor. | |
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS | |
Education: University medical degree with Master degree in Public Health. | |
Skills: I.T. Skills: Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and computer skills for making high quality technical presentations including data analysis. Competencies: Ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to try, understand and be tolerant of different opinions and views. | |
Experience: Two to five years' of relevant working experience related to newborn and child health and development at national level. | |
Languages: Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English. | |
