ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER
An environmental officer monitors, maintains, and protect s environmental standards as laid down in the existing country legislations. The main activities shall include the following duties
Duties and Responsibilities
•    To plan and conduct research into the physical and biological nature of the mine site
•    To develop ways of minimizing production process impact on the environmental
•    To investigate and report on site accidents which impact upon the environment
•    To take part in emergency responses to accidents eg chemical spills etc
•    To assist with developing environmental policies and strategies
•    To rehabilitate degraded land
•    To conduct environmental audits
Qualifications 
•    The candidate must have tertiary qualifications in environmental  Engineering/ science 1-2 years experience in the mining industry would be favourable
•    Have sound knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office Suite of products including Excel, Word, Publisher and Access database
Skills
•    Good organizational and interpersonal skills
•    A high level of English and communication skills (both spoken and written)
