MINING SURVEYOR
Mine Surveyor ensures exact measurements and provides data relevant to shape, contour, location, elevation or dimension of land or land features on or near the earth’s surface for engineering, mapmaking, mining, land evaluation, and other purposes. The main activities shall include the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
• To verify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
• To prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports and legal descriptions of surveys to describe , certify and assume responsibility and liability
• To plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish mine plans, baselines, elevations, drill collars, topographical heights (DTMs) and any other geodetic measurements
• To undertake mine survey operations on the mine as may be assigned
• To prepare or supervise preparations of all data, charts, plots, maps records and documents related to surveys
• Ensuring uninterrupted and continuous mine development work in challenging social conditions
• Application of latest software like TOTAL STATION, MINEX etc…and PLOTTERs
• Maintain records of survey to determine ore & waste rock production
• Cross check the reported & actual production
Qualifications
• Degree /diploma in Surveying, prefer 4 years of related work experience in open pit gold operation
• Mine planning: Ensure compliance of all legal requirements while submitting Mine plan
• Mines exploration: Assist the geologist for exploration
• Monthly assessment of ore movement & waste rock movement for billing purpose
• Mines survey: conduct survey related to mine development and as per statutory requirements
• Inter-departmental and external coordination
Skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and research skills
• Must possess strong cultural sensitivity and be able to execute work successfully in a different culture
